Annie Smith - Headliner Bio

When Annie Smith says she’s a Professional Quilter, she means it in every sense of the word. But don’t expect to buy one of her quilts—Annie doesn’t sell her work. Instead, she’s built an extraordinary career teaching, designing, inspiring, and transforming the quilting world one stitch at a time.

Annie is a self-described Quilt Imagineer—a visionary in fabric and thread. She’s a nationally and internationally recognized quilt instructor and lecturer, a C&T

Publishing author, a pattern designer and publisher, and the producer behind online classes that reach students far and wide. She’s also a respected quilt judge and a trusted voice in the industry as a BERNINA Ambassador, an Aurifil Aurifilosopher, a LauraStar and Cherrywood Fabric Ambassador—and, notably, the creator of “Quilting Stash,” the very first podcast for quilters.

With a career stitched together from passion, innovation, and a love of community, Annie wears many hats—but all of them are trimmed in fabric and creativity. Her true expertise? Machine Appliqué. But her obsession? Everything quilting: the machines, the books (she loves quilting books), the notions, the threads, and above all, the people she meets along the way.

Originally from California, Annie now calls Texas home, where she’s embraced the buckaroo lifestyle with her family, ten grandchildren, and golden retriever, Posey. Whether she’s teaching at national shows like AQS, leading retreats in Missouri, or designing her next workshop series for John C. Campbell Folk School, Annie lives and breathes her craft—every single day.

Prepare to be inspired. This is quilting with heart, humor, and a whole lot of experience.
